It is one of the Prefecture’s largest enterprises with significant experience in the sector and a remarkable historical, professional and economic course.

The company mostly engages in exports, mainly to North America and Canada. However, in recent years, it has started doing business with France, Spain, Sweden and Russia, thus paving the way for a successful expansion of exports in Europe.

K. Zafeiropoulos – A. Its aim is to place high quality Pepperoncini on the market in line with the strictest food safety standards.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Konstantinos A. Zafeiropoulos and Andreas S. Tomaras founded a handcraft establishment in May 1970 in a small privately-owned space, unable to compete with the large factories, which were the leaders of the Pepperoncini market in that decade. In July 1973, they purchased the premises where the company is based to date.

By means of continuous expansions in 1976, 1984 and 2004, large spaces were created to facilitate the production process and improve the performance of employees and laborers. Our love for this product, our hard work and outstanding personalities of our founders have led to the gradual development of the enterprise and, finally, to its establishment as a key market player in our Prefecture.

The company has renewed both its technical infrastructure and its human resources. The children of its founders, Zafeiropoulos Andreas, Tomaras Spilios, Tomara Dionisia and Zafeiropoulou Christina are worthy successors to the factory’s successful course. The high knowledge and skills of the company’s younger members, combined with the valuable advice of its older members, guarantee a prosperous and productive future for the industrial unit.

FACILITIES

K. Zafeiropoulos – A. Tomaras Industrial and Commercial S.A. has buildings of 5,400 m2 in a total land area of 52,000 m2. Recently, all its premises (product receipt, processing, sorting, packaging and storage) have been renovated in line with the HACCP standards and principles, giving the company a modern and dynamic profile, consistent with the rules of international trade.

The unit’s production workforce comprises 25-30 people from October to June each year, while in the most productive period of the year, from June to October, it comprises 60-80 people. Our experienced staff works with respect and commitment, in the company’s fully renovated premises. Our aim is to produce high-quality competitive products, which are the “trademark” of the plant.

Our company started with a very small production of 13 tons and an annual turnover of a few thousand Greek drachmas and has now reached 5 000 tons with an annual turnover of USD 4.500.000 – 5.000.000.
